MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- The Sayano–Shushenskaya hydropower plant, a subsidiary of Russian hydropower giant RusHydro, produced 25.48 billion kilowatt-hours in 2016, a record since its launch in 1978 thanks to favorable hydrologic situation of the Yenisei River, good planning of water and power operation regimes, the affiliate said in a statement on Wednesday.
Optimization of maintenance schedule and a partial easing of power output restrictions also helped the company increase production, it said.
The plant produced more than 700 billion kWh as of December 2016 since its launch.
